Today I would like to introduce you to Felix. He is one of two men on the Eulenschnitt team and at the same time one of our founders. For me, it’s very exciting to learn a little more about him.
Felix, you and Lena created Eulenschnitt together back then. When you think back to that time, what was it like for you?
(Before Felix answered, a huge grin spread across his face).
It was crazy, exhausting, and beautiful at the same time! It was a time of many sacrifices, a lot of frustration, and many fears. At the same time, there were also all the positive counterparts: incredible joy, fun, and experiences. I think you can hear that it was a complete rollercoaster of emotions. When something was really bad, we always knew afterwards what would help us move forward, and when nothing was bad, it was just especially awesome! We were still very young back then, and that was a good thing. I had just started university and Lena was pregnant. I think it’s good that we didn’t have much experience yet. Because of that, we just did things and tried them out and were less afraid. I believe we became a bit more resilient because of that and appreciate incredibly much what we have achieved today.

What advice would you give to people who are also considering starting something?
I think you should basically be clear about who you are. Do you want to work independently? You are then actually "self" and "constant" and initially on your own. But I think you should just dare to do it and above all not be afraid of failure. You can always take experiences from everything, even if an idea crashes. It definitely takes a few years until an idea runs reasonably well, but then it can be pretty great!
What is it like to be self-employed?
It is wonderful ♥️
Do you have something like a daily routine?
If you have two children and an intact family, you simply need structure. It’s the same in our company. We now try to structure a lot so that everything works well. I think for me, the daily routine is the work that I really enjoy and the time with the family.
What do you like to do most in your free time?
I really like spending a lot of time with my children and I love going for walks with our dog Koko. That is always an hour for me to switch off. I also really like working a little in the evening when everyone is already asleep and it’s very quiet.

What did you want to become when you were little?
At 12 / 13 I wanted to become a doctor. I always had a nice idea of working in a hospital. At some point, I understood how stressful that would be and what would come with it. Luckily, I changed my mind then.
Where are you from?
I am a true Hamburger ⚓️
What is it like to work in such a henhouse?
For me, that is completely normal. Back then in training (business economist in foreign trade) there were also more women than men. So nothing has changed for me here.
Which café would you recommend to anyone visiting Hamburg for the first time?
Just come to us 😊 I would claim that I make pretty good coffee and I always like to share it!
Where is your next vacation?
We are going on a family vacation with good friends to the Baltic Sea.

What can make you happy?
Phew! I think if someone asks me if I want to eat something, I say no and in the end there is still something for me.
Do you have a nickname?
My family originally comes from southern Germany, so I was always called Bächle when I was younger.
What is your favorite Eulenschnitt product? / Which product was developed especially for you?
I am not a morning person at all, so the Hey Grumpy Cup was designed especially for me back then.
Which superhero would you be?
Definitely not Superman and not Thor either (he just has too long hair). Captain America is a bit too patriotic for me. I think it’s Ant-Man. He is mercilessly underestimated.
What would you do if you had no phone for a day and were not reachable for work?
I would sleep in really long, spend a lot of time with the family, and do a lot of dozing.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
For sweets. Especially for chocolate!
Tell us in the comments what else you would like to know about Felix. I am already looking forward to your questions!
