The iced coffee is made in a flash during the coffee break. Besides the simple iced coffee, you will also find a recipe for Dalgona foam here, which makes your coffee something very special. Because what could be better than refreshing yourself with a cool iced coffee on a warm day and enjoying the coffee break in the sun?

Make lightning-fast iced coffee yourself

You need:

  • Freshly brewed coffee: We like to use a strong espresso (about 40 ml), but you can also use a filter coffee (about 100 ml) or cold brew (about 100 ml).
  • Ice cubes: In our office fridge, fresh ice cubes are always ready. A few of them make your iced coffee nicely cool. We use 3-4 large ice cubes or 5-6 smaller ice cubes.
  • Milk or milk substitute: Each of us has our preferences, whether it's classic cow's milk, almond, soy, or oat milk. I personally swear by oat milk for my iced coffee. For our iced coffee, we use about 200 ml of milk.
  • Your favorite glass: I prefer our practical Can-Gläser for iced coffee. They offer enough space for ice cubes. With the wooden lids and our straws, you can also take the glasses with you for a walk.

If you want a different flavor, we also recommend:

  • Sweeteners: A little sugar, agave syrup, or a splash of vanilla syrup add that certain something extra.
  • Toppings of your choice: Whipped cream, cocoa powder, cinnamon, or caramel syrup can refine your iced coffee.

Our preparation steps:

  1. Prepare coffee: Brew your espresso as usual and set it aside. Alternatively, you can also use filter coffee or Cold Brew.
  2. Prepare glass: Fill your favorite glass with ice cubes.
  3. Add milk: Add your favorite milk to the ice cubes. Depending on taste, this can be more or less.
  4. Add espresso: Slowly pour the espresso over the milk to create a nice color gradient.
  5. Sweeten and decorate: If you like, you can sweeten the iced coffee and decorate it as you wish. My tip for summer: instead of ice cubes, you can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This gives your iced coffee an extra sweet taste.
  6. Enjoy: Now it's time to simply enjoy our iced coffee. Find yourself a sunny spot for that.

Prepare Cold Brew coffee

Cold Brew coffee is a refreshing and aromatic alternative to traditional hot coffee. The preparation is very simple and only requires some patience. Start by mixing coarsely ground coffee with cold water. Use a ratio of about 1 part coffee to 4 parts water. Stir the mixture well and then let it steep in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, preferably 18 to 24 hours. Then strain the coffee through a fine sieve or coffee filter to remove the coarse coffee grounds. The resulting Cold Brew coffee is mild, aromatic, and can be served with milk, syrup, or ice according to your preference. Enjoy it pure or as a base for refreshing coffee drinks on warm summer days.

Have you heard of Dalgona foam?

Dalgona foam has recently attracted a lot of attention, and for good reason! This airy, creamy coffee creation gives your drink a new, incredibly delicious note. Here we show you how to prepare your own Dalgona foam at home:

You need:

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • Milk (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Preparation:

  1. Prepare mixture: Mix 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of hot water in a cup or bowl.
  2. Whip foam: Use a whisk or a milk frother to beat the mixture for about 5-10 minutes until stiff peaks form and the mixture takes on a light, airy consistency.
  3. Prepare milk and ice: Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour milk of your choice over it. Leave enough space for the foam at the top of the glass.
  4. Serve foam: Once the foam is stiff and airy, carefully spoon it onto the milk-ice mixture in your glass. You can gently spread the foam over the surface of the drink or place it in small heaps on top.
  5. Enjoy: Your Dalgona foam is now ready! Stir the foam into the milk as you like and enjoy the refreshing drink.

My tip: You can adjust the amount of coffee, sugar, and water to change the taste and consistency of the foam according to your preferences. You can also use different types of milk or add other toppings to the drink, such as chocolate sprinkles or caramel syrup. I love vanilla syrup in my iced coffee!
