Today I want to introduce you to Nele, who enriches our team at Eulenschnitt with so much heart and creativity! She joined us as a working student over two years ago and has been indispensable ever since. Nele is the creative soul behind many of our designs and watercolors – and we are so happy to have her on the team! In this post, she reveals what inspires her, what she especially loves about her work, and which projects will soon surprise you. Enjoy getting to know her!
1. Nele, you joined Eulenschnitt as a working student over two years ago. What motivated you back then to start at Eulenschnitt and how has your path developed here?
I studied communication design and had been following Eulenschnitt on Instagram for a while – a few Cups and bowls already had a permanent place in my kitchen. When I then saw that a working student was being sought, it was immediately clear to me: That’s where I want to go! I went straight home and sent my application the same day. I was then allowed to manage the TikTok channel, which I really enjoyed. After my graduation, I switched permanently to the design team and have since been joyfully involved in such beautiful projects.

2. What does it mean to you to be part of the Eulenschnitt team, and what do you appreciate most about working with the other creative minds?
Being part of the Eulenschnitt team means working every day with wonderful people. Our entire office team is super warm, creative, and motivated – it really feels a bit like a second family. The exchange among each other is totally inspiring, everyone brings their own ideas, and together so many beautiful things emerge. I really appreciate this open, friendly atmosphere.
3. You paint beautiful watercolors that radiate so much love and joy. What inspires you when you create new designs?
I am mainly inspired by my feelings and beautiful experiences. There are moments in everyday life that simply make me happy, and I try to capture exactly this positive energy in my designs. But Pinterest and Instagram are also great sources of inspiration. The exchange within the team also helps me a lot to develop new ideas. When I see what others create, I often get a new creative impulse.

4. Is there a design or project you are particularly proud of?
The poster with the cute animals, available as a download, is definitely one of my highlights! And there’s another great product coming – pssst, that’s still a secret! But I’m also incredibly proud of my watercolor cards that I design, as well as the last family calendar for 2025. It simply brings me so much joy to create so many beautiful things and see how much joy they bring to people.
5. Your new downloadable poster with many cute animals is simply adorable! What particularly inspired you in this project and how did you select the animals?
The poster fits perfectly with a new product that will be released soon – stay tuned! I wanted to depict animals that stand for joy and playfulness. The selection was a creative process, and I chose animals that I personally find super cute.

6. You have a cat yourself – can we soon look forward to more animal products?
Yesss! My cat really inspires me, and I’m happy that many cat lovers will soon get their share too. Besides the cute watercolors, Eulenschnitt will soon get even more animal-themed! Many new products are coming that are perfect for animal lovers. (Psst... Little Emmy was even our model)

7. How do you spend your free time? Do you have favorite activities or places that bring you new creative ideas?
In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors. I enjoy the sun and love to express my creativity on my balcony. My big dream is a huge garden with cute ducks and chickens. Time with family and friends is also very important to me – sometimes the best ideas come exactly in those moments when you can just relax and gather new impressions.
8. You love summer! What is it about summer that particularly inspires you, and how does this passion reflect in your work?
Summer – simply pure good mood! The colors, the light, the warmth – all of this has a special magic. I carry this lightness and cheerfulness into my designs. Summer always brings such a relaxed, positive energy that I like to incorporate into my work.

9. What are your next creative goals or projects at Eulenschnitt? Is there something you are especially looking forward to?
We are currently working behind the scenes on many great new products – not only for animal lovers but also for children. Many exciting new things are coming that I am really looking forward to. I can’t wait to share the new designs with you.
It's really wonderful to see how much passion Nele puts into her work! Her designs always bring a dose of good mood to everyday life – and we are super grateful to have her at Eulenschnitt.
